Within the BIA, the number of patients who will use the considered health technology and future budget expenditure for that population are estimated. Estimation of costs is conducted in two scenarios — under the assumption that the considered health technology is reimbursed and that the current status is maintained. This allows to determine the impact on the budget the positive decision on reimbursement of the considered health technology might impose.
