Course: HTA guidelines
The program of this course includes current Polish and international guidelines that should be taken into account in the process of HTA, with respect to efficacy and safety as well as economical and financial aspects. The most important aspects of HTA guidelines presented during the course are discussed on the example of specific analyses. The presented criteria are related to the quality and contents of the analyses. Special attention is paid to the role and place of the decision problem analysis, introduced by the ?benefit package act? along with the new system for assessment of the reports ? a key issue (presentation of the most important aspects of analyses and the scope of the decision problem) in preparation of answers to verification analyses developed by the AHTAPol.
Intended participants
Persons involved in the process of development and/or evaluation of HTA analyses ? employees of the AHTAPol, NHF, MH, and employees of private institutions involved in the process of application for financing of health care services from public means.
Key abilities
After completing this course, the participant will be able to:
- present the criteria used in health technology assessment,
- discuss the key elements of evaluation of HTA reports in Poland,
- critically evaluate an analysis according to HTA guidelines,
- discuss the scope and role of a systematic review, especially the hierarchy of studies and credibility assessment,
- assess validity of application of indirect comparison and other methods and their limitations,
- competently apply appropriate methods for selection of economic analyses,
- discuss methods of credible evaluation of costs of treatment or a disease,
- present in detail methods of prediction and estimation of budget impact.
