Course: Benefit packages
The objective of a guaranteed benefit package is to give the society (beneficiaries of the system) the best access to health care services possible within limited resources of the system. Its main idea is to give the patient the feeling of health safety and appropriate access to information and services while maintaining financial safety of the payer.
Intended participants
Representatives of public institutions responsible for health care, representatives of the public payer and employees of private insurance institutions.
Key abilities
After completing this course, the participant will be able to:
- define the concept and idea of the guaranteed benefit package,
- describe the structure of benefit packages in selected countries,
- discuss the legal acts and pathways of application and appeal from decisions,
- describe the role and place of HTA in the decision process.
