Course: HTA from the perspective of a decision maker
Health technology assessment (HTA) is a multi-disciplinary science dealing with decision-making in health care and clinical practice based on scientific evidence. Knowledge of subsequent stages of inclusion of a specific technology into the guaranteed benefit package and the key aspects of this process makes it possible to prepare convincing arguments and thus increase the chance for a positive decision on reimbursement.
Intended participants
Persons involved in preparation of reimbursement applications and creation of reimbursement strategies, representatives of entities responsible for contacts with public institutions in health care, and representatives of entities responsible for price or reimbursement negotiations.
Key abilities
After completing this course, the participant will be able to:
- competently diagnose legal problems in the field of drug reimbursement associated with inclusion or exclusion of drugs from the list of reimbursed drugs or other parts of the guaranteed benefit package,
- describe application pathways, related procedures and necessary documents,
- independently prepare reimbursement and pricing applications using HTA analyses,
- keep in touch with changing legal acts concerning preparation of reports depending on the application pathway.
