History
HTA Consulting, a company founded in 2001 in Krakow, is a Polish and Central and Eastern European pioneer in the field of health technology assessment. At present the main activity of HTA Consulting is evaluation of the efficacy, safety and costs of specific diagnostic and treatment options, according to the best, worldwide recognised Evidence-Based Health Care (EBHC) criteria.
As a result of our long presence on the market, we have developed methods ensuring maintenance of the highest international quality standards, for which the best proof are numerous commissions from abroad. We provide regular services to leading companies and institutions present on the healthcare market in Poland, Europe and the whole world.
Since foundation of the company in 2001 we have developed more than 200 complete HTA reports. In the years 2003-2004 we developed our first protocols of prospective cost studies and controlled clinical trials. In 2005 we started to conduct our first randomised trial. In 2006 we designed our first registry/ observational study, which we will conduct in the years to come. Registries and observational/ cost studies are our priority as important investigation tools in medicine.
2001
- December - HTA Consulting was founded by 4 partners.
- Krzysztof Landa became the first president of the company.
2004
- June - HTA Consulting was a co-organiser of the 1st HTAi Annual Meeting in Krakow - ca. 500 participants from all over the world (for more information see www.htai.org)
2006
- Our first registry protocol was implemented in 10 centres in Poland.
- Robert Plisko became a new president of the company.
- Cooperation between our company and Jagiellonian University Institute of Mathematics was established.
- Our book titled "Basic principles of creation of benefit packages in selected countries" was published.
2007
- We developed a protocol of a randomised clinical trial concerning a medical device.

2008
- Company headquarters were transferred to ul. Starowislna 17/3 in Krakow
- We were a bronze sponsor of the 2008 EBHC Symposium (for more information see www.ceestahc.org)
2009
- We developed our 150th HTA report.
- We established an office in Warszawa.
- The number of our personnel exceeded 50 (and was still growing).
- We held an exhibition stand at the ISPOR conference in Paris.
- We held an exhibition stand at the 2009 EBHC Symposium in Krakow (www.ceestahc.org)
- We were a silver sponsor of the 2009 EBHC Symposium (for more information see www.ceestahc.org)
- We were co-authors of a book titled "Pricing. Prices of reimbursed drugs, negotiation and risk sharing"
2010
- July - we won a tender held by the Agency for Health Technology Assessment in Poland.
- We were a silver sponsor of the 2010 EBHC Symposium (for more information see www.ceestahc.org)
- We held an exhibition stand at the ISPOR conference in Prague.
- We started two research projects: NIMI (for more information see www.badanianimi.pl) and ECONOMEDICA
